I started training in April 2018 to lose some weight and to learn to defend myself. During this time I've managed to lose around 20kg and recently received my brown belt.
I help coach all ages ranging from the tiny champs to the adults.
My style of Jiu jitsu is all about getting on top and staying on top and then working towards the submission.
One of the best parts of coaching for me is seeing a student land a move I've shown them that little lightbulb moment never gets old. In my classes, I aim to make sure everyone understands the why behind a technique, so they leave not just knowing a move, but knowing how to make it their own.
I love Jiu-Jitsu so much that I've even dragged my wife and kids onto the mats (they've forgiven me... mostly).
